We're Learning More About Friday's Marina Fire, We Still Don't Know the Cause

PATOKA LAKE -- We still don’t know what started a fire last week at Hoosier Hills Marina on Patoka Lake.

The state Fire Marshal is investigating.

Indiana DNR officials confirm a total of 22 boats were damaged in Friday morning’s blaze.  11 were destroyed; three sank.

Investigators say they do not believe anyone was on the dock when the fire started and no one was hurt.

Firefighters braved cold, icy conditions Friday morning to contain the fire.  Conservation officers assisted by treating the slick roads leading back to the marina to allow fire crews to safely access the scene.

A boom has been placed around the area to keep wreckage and fuel from spreading to other parts of the lake.
