WATCH: Opening Ceremonies and Parade to Bier Garten

JASPER -- The Jasper Strassenfest is officially underway in the courthouse square.  It runs through August 4th.  In the photo below, the mayor lights the sister-city candle.

Around 30,000 people are expected to visit during the four day celebration. 

It all began last night with opening ceremonies and the parade to the beer garden.
