Vincennes University's Blazers Give Day set for April 2 during historic 225th anniversary year

Vincennes University will host its sixth annual Blazers Give Day, a 24-hour giving celebration dedicated to the continued advancement of the University’s mission, on Thursday, April 2.


The 2026 event is all about Fueling the Legacy, and it carries special significance as a cornerstone of VU’s historic 225th anniversary.


For more than two centuries, VU has served as a foundational institution for innovation and public service. As the University commemorates this milestone, VU is calling upon the University community of alumni, students, family, and friends to support the resources needed to fuel the

next generation of leaders.


To mark this anniversary, VU has established exclusive anniversary-themed incentives and giving challenges designed to maximize the impact of every contribution. From specific academic programs to NJCAA athletics, supporters are invited to direct their gifts toward the areas of greatest importance to them.


“Blazers Give Day exemplifies the enduring Trailblazer spirit and generosity of the VU Community,” Executive Director of VU Foundation and Senior Director of Institutional Advancement Kristi Deetz said. “Every gift made on Blazers Give Day strengthens the University’s mission. It also empowers Trailblazers to reach their full potential as they prepare to lead in an evolving world."


How to Fuel the Legacy

  • Supporters are invited to give to the VU fund that matters the most to them at vinu.edu/BlazersGive.
  • Consider becoming an Ambassador and help spread the word about Blazers Give Day with family, friends, and peers, so they know how important this initiative is and what their help means. Sign up as an Advocate by creating a GiveCampus account. Get details at vinu.edu/BlazersGive.
  • Help get the word out about Blazers Give Day by becoming a social media ambassador. A ready-to-use social media kit is available at the Blazers Give Day webpage.
  • Support the Brick Campaign for the new Center for Health Sciences and Learning Innovation. By making a gift to the VU fund that means the most to them, supporters will receive a commemorative engraved brick. It will be placed permanently outside the center. A Health Sciences Alumni Reunion begins at 4:30 p.m. (ET) on Blazers Give Day, and a brick unveiling will take place.
  • Visit Dine and Donate partners throughout the week. Details are at vinu.edu/BlazersGive.
  • Cheer on students at "VU’s Got Talent" on Wednesday, April 1, 4-8 p.m. (ET) at the Intramural Fields.
  • Kick off Blazers Give Day at Impressed Coffee Co. at 205 Main Street in Vincennes on Thursday, April 2, 7:15-8:30 a.m. (ET) with swag and caffeine. Keep the momentum going later at the President’s Spring Fling with music, games, and snacks, 11a.m.-1:30 p.m. (ET) at Jefferson Student Union.
