Information: 

On 05/11/2026 at approximately 1:21 PM, officers with the Jasper Police Department executed an arrest warrant for Deontae T. Wigodinski in connection with an incident that occurred at the Jasper Public Library during the early morning hours of May 6, 2026. 

Mr. Wigodinski is alleged to have shattered two windows at the library and attempted to cause additional damage, but was unsuccessful. Investigators believe that after returning home, Mr. Wigodinski disposed of clothing believed to be connected to the incident. Officers also spoke with Mr. Wigodinski on the day of the incident, and investigators believe he provided false statements at that time. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Dubois County Security Center on charges of Obstruction of Justice, Criminal Mischief and False Informing. The Jasper Police Department would like to thank everyone who came forward with information and assisted with this investigation.
