Two Hospitalized Following Crash Near Dubois Crossroads

DUBOIS CO.  -- A crash Monday morning near the Dubois Crossroads sent two people to the hospital.

Authorities say a Jasper man was traveling east on SR 56 just before 6:30 Monday morning when he ran off of the roadway and into a ditch.

The vehicle continued, striking an embankment, forcing the truck to flip.

The driver and a passenger were out of the truck when first responders arrived.Police reports show they may have been ejected from the vehicle in the crash.

Both were taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital both with head lacerations.

The driver told investigators he fell asleep behind the wheel.

No charges have been filed, but the crash remains under investigation.

The driver has been identified as 37-year-old Jeffery Dotterweich.His passenger is 35-year-old Crystal Dotterweich.
