Two Arrested During Martin Co. Sex Offender Check

LOOGOOTEE – Deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people over the weekend during a sex offender registry address verification.

Deputies say they smelled burnt marijuana when they did that check Saturday at a home south of Loogootee.

When deputies knocked, a small child answered the door, along with the offender, Charles Taylor.

A search warrant was obtained.Arrest reports show several illegal items were found including marijuana, paraphernalia and another smoking pipe with residue on it.A field test confirmed it was methamphetamine.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
