Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest For Possession Of Cocaine & OVWI

On Saturday morning, August 1, 2026, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Trooper Elijah Mundy was patrolling the City Jasper on US 231 when he stopped a gray 2021 Dodge Ram for failure to use turn signals. Trooper Mundy spoke to the driver of the vehicle, who identified himself as Eddie Tate. While speaking to Tate, Trooper Mundy observed visible signs of impairment. During a search of Tate, suspected cocaine was located. Tate was arrested and transported to Deaconess Memorial Medical Center in Jasper for a chemical test. Tate was then transported to the Dubois County Jail where he is being held on bond.
