Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest For Dealing Meth
Late Friday night, April 24, 2026, at approximately 11:34 p.m., Trooper Tanner Hurley was patrolling US 41 near Vincennes when he stopped a black 2014 Ford Explorer for speeding. Trooper Hurley spoke to the driver of the vehicle, who identified herself as Megan Burns of Vincennes and the passenger, Victor Sobolewski of Washington. While speaking to the occupants, Trooper Hurley recognized indicators of criminal activity and requested the assistance of a K-9.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office and K-9 partner Goran arrived to assist Trooper Hurley. K-9 Goran performed an open-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive indication of the presence of narcotics. Due to a positive K-9 alert on the vehicle, officers conducted a search and found three small bags containing approximately 8 grams of suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both Burns and Sobolewski were arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
