STATEWIDE -- The subject of teacher pay will be put on hold for now.

The Next Level Teacher Compensation Commission's report was originally scheduled to release this summer, but that never happened.

Michael Smith of the commission says the report is being held because it wouldn't be fair to release the new teacher pay recommendations during Indiana's "fragile economic condition", caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The report has put forth around 40 different suggestions for Indiana teacher salaries.
