The Dubois County Museum announces their Christmas Schedule.
Tuesday, November 11, over 50 trees began being decorated by museum volunteers, non- profit and
community volunteers and displayed around the museum.
On Thursday, November 20, the Museum presented the the Opening of the Festival of Trees from 5:30-
7:30pm Free admission this evening. Public voting will begin this night and continue through
December 18 on a favorite decorated tree. The ballot asks for your three favorite trees and the museum
staff tabulate the votes. They know it is hard to vote for only one tree. The museum’s Exhibit team will
be decorating with parts of the Kay Smock Santa Figurine Collection, which includes Lenox, Clothtique
Santa by Possible Dreams (the oldest being from 1988), Vailliancort Folk Art, Hallmark ornaments, Kurt
Adler, Memories of Santa Earthenware started in 1983, Olde World Christmas Ornaments and more.
Also on display several pieces of the Metzger Collection of Hummel figurines. This year the Little
Pioneers area has a special case featuring Precious Moments figurines.
The museum will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. It will open again on Friday, November
28.
The trees display and decorations will remain up till about January 11, 2026.

December 6- 3:00 p.m. Strings, Inc. perform. (Note change of time) Local Violin students present their
holiday show.
December 13 9:00-11:30 am Sweets with Santa, crafts and games. A charcuterie display of yummy
treats and sweets. Cost is $7 per adult. $5 per children under 8. Reservations taken by calling or texting

December 13 Storytime with Carrie at 10:30 am. Theme is Christmas Memories. Happening on the Log
House porch with Santa.
December 13 Cookie Walk begins at 10:00am and closes at 2:00pm in lobby area.
December 14 Cookie Walk held from 1-3:00pm in lobby area.
December 18 5:30-7:00pm Free Evening Celebrating Christmas A night to enjoy the museum. Museum
volunteers celebrated. Christmas Tree decorating winners announced
Museum closed on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1.
