The Dubois County Humane Society needs your help

As some of you may already be aware, DCHS recently responded to an emergency situation that resulted in 20 dogs coming into our care at once — most of them puppies.

Taking in this many animals at one time comes with an immense and immediate financial cost. Each dog needs veterinary care, vaccinations, food, housing, supplies, and eventually spay/neuter surgery before adoption.

We also want to be transparent: this comes at an incredibly difficult time for DCHS financially. Our resources are already stretched, but this is exactly why we exist.

When animals in our community need help, our mission is to step up. We are able to say YES in moments like this because our community continues to step up with us.

Monetary donations are our greatest immediate need. Every $5, $10, $20 or $50 helps us shoulder the cost of caring for these animals. Link to donate in comments

If you’re able, we would be especially grateful if you would consider becoming a recurring donor. Even $20 a month gives DCHS stability — helping us care for the animals here today while preparing us for the next emergency.

20 dogs needed someone to step up for them. DCHS did. Now we’re asking our community to step up with us.

Donate if you can. Become a monthly donor if you’re able. And please, share this post.
