TELL CITY  -- Body cameras have been given to police officers in Tell City.

Last month the Perry County city started rolling out the cameras to all full-time officers. Chief Derick Lawalin says they haven't had any situations where they have had to review body cam footage for an officer who might be in trouble, but that doesn't mean they aren't using them.

On top of adding transparency to for the public, he tells WFIE the cameras have been a great learning tool so they can see how officers handle different situations so they can get better at it.
