Suspect Arrested After Fleeing Deputies Onto William Natcher Bridge

Daviess County, Kentucky: On September 27th, at approximately 1:50 pm, Daviess County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies were dispatched to the area of US Highway 60 East and Iceland Spur near Maceo to assist Kentucky State Police. It was reported to DCSO that a male subject who had several active warrants was in the area and had fled into nearby woods. DCSO assisted KSP in setting up a perimeter and the DCSO Drone Unit and K9 Unit responded to assist. Eventually the subject was spotted walking on the William Natcher Bridge toward Indiana. A DCSO deputy approached the suspect, and a foot chase ensued when the subject began running away from deputies and refusing orders to stop. The subject then climbed over the railing in a section of the bridge that was over the Ohio River in an attempt to further evade law enforcement. It was initially unclear if the subject had jumped from the bridge. The Daviess County and Owensboro Fire Departments responded to the scene with fire rescue boats and were able to determine that the subject was hiding on the lower side of the bridge. DCSO Sergeant Matt Alexander eventually climbed over the railing of the bridge and made contact with the subject. After a brief discussion, the subject was convinced by Sgt. Alexander to climb back over the railing, and surrendered to law enforcement. He was transported by KSP to the Daviess County Detention Center where de will face sevearl  charges from both DCSO and KSP. The bridge reopened shortly afterwards. It had been closed for approximately one hour to all traffic.
