DALE -- A ground breaking was held Friday at Superior Ag in Dale on a 3,000 ton feed mill.

The Free Press reports the $20 million dollar project will bring new jobs to the area and help spur further economic growth in the region.

The decision to build the new facility came back in 2016 when Superior Ag’s Board of Directors decided making federally-required upgrades to an existing building would be too expensive.

Building a new facility would be much cheaper, according to the company.

The new facility will be able to grow the company’s Livestock Nutrition business, increasing pelleting capacity and allowing the Superior Ag to provide more specialized animal nutrition to local producers.

The current feed mill locations in St. Meinrad and Jasper plan to merge operations into the Dale location.
