St. Meinrad Parish fall picnic set for September 18
St. Meinrad- The annual St. Meinrad Parish Fall Picnic will be held on the church grounds on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CDT.
Parishioners, friends and neighbors are invited to enjoy entertainment throughout the day, including live music at the outdoor dining pavilion, weather permitting. Featured will be fried chicken dinners, famous soup (by the bowl or gallon), ice cream by Windmill Chill, and a food court with hamburgers and cheeseburgers.
Other activities include a Kids’ Zone with games and activities, live music by The Hagedorn Family Band, and an architectural tour of the parish church at 11 a.m. Take a virtual tour of the parish cemetery to locate and view specific burial sites, photos of the headstones, and an aerial map of the cemetery at www.smcatholic.church/1861.
The country store will feature crafts from local artisans, baked goods, preserves, jams, canned items and, new in 2022, whole pies and cakes.
The celebration will conclude with theme basket and raffle drawings. Raffle tickets are available from any St. Meinrad parishioner. Please return the completed raffle tickets and donations to raffle stands on picnic day. You must be 18 years old to enter and need not be present to win. Cash prizes will be mailed within 10 business days (Indiana Gaming Commission 2022 License 002566).
Parking is available on the parish grounds, with overflow parking at the east lawn. Handicap parking is located on the south side of the church. Shuttle service will be available.
