Spencer County
- The Spencer County Fair and Iron Outlaws will be holding a one-day demolition derby to benefit Hadi Shriners Hospital in August.

On August 7th, the Hadi Shriners - whose members span Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Pike, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties - will welcome guests to the Spencer County Fairgrounds.

According to the press release:

Each and every weekday, members of the Hadi Shriners Hospital Staff are taking children and families to one of our four hospitals. These men commit an entire day of travel to and from St. Louis, Cincinnati, Lexington or Chicago so area children can receive tratment at one of the Shriners children's hospitals.

They also raise money to purchase the five cans used in their transportation, purchase gas, meals for the children and their families. If an overnight stay is needed, Hadi Shriners Hospital staff uses funds it has raised to pay for their hotel and meals, picking them up the following day to travel home.

Their commitment to bettering the lives of kids in the five Southern counties of Indiana are a testament to their dedication of time and efforts.

On the day of the event, registration will begin at 3:00 p.m. "Power Wheels" is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., followed by Lawnmowers at 5:00 p.m., then the derby at 7:00 p.m.

The gate cost is $5 per person, children under the age of six get in free.
