SPENCER COUNTY -- A southern Indiana animal shelter is accused of euthanizing animals by freezing them to death.
Former employees of the Spencer County Animal Shelter tell WFIE in Evansville that unwanted cats were put in a freezer to die.
WFIE reached out to the shelter for their side of the story; shelter officials replied with "no comment."
The Sheriff's Office is investigating and has turned the case over to the prosecutor's office. Charges have not been filed.
The shelter's Facebook page has been deactivated.
