SHERIFF BRAD YOUNGMAN ANNOUNCES RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

Sheriff Brad Youngman has officially announced his campaign for re-election, citing strong results that show the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is delivering exceptional outcomes for residents while continuing to modernize and improve efficiency. Youngman emphasized that while great progress has been made, there is still work ahead to ensure safe homes, safe streets, and safe schools throughout Daviess County.

“We’ve done a lot of work the past few years to improve our services,” said Sheriff Youngman. “We opened a field office in Whitesville to better serve eastern Daviess County, fully staffed our department which allowed us to launch a dedicated Narcotics Unit and expand our Investigations Division, and modernized our systems so residents can conveniently pay their property taxes online. These steps have made our office more efficient, more transparent, and better equipped to protect our community.”

Reflecting on his term, Sheriff Youngman highlighted measurable progress made under his leadership.

“Our clearance rates are among the best in Kentucky; we solved serious crimes at a much higher rate than the national average, and cleared most property crimes, too. In 2024 alone, our deputies responded to more than twenty thousand calls for service, all while keeping Daviess County one of the safest places to live and raise a family. On the administrative side, we enabled residents to pay their property taxes online for the first time, saving residents time and bringing the office into the modern age. Those results show our commitment to improving our operations.”

A lifelong Owensboro resident and retired U.S. Army officer, Sheriff Youngman brings over two decades of military and law enforcement leadership to the position. Before being elected Sheriff, he served as an Owensboro Police Department patrolman, narcotics detective, and supervisor, and later as Chief of Police for Daviess County Public Schools. He is a graduate of the FBI National Command Course and currently serves on the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association Board of Directors. He also is involved in many nonprofit organizations.

As he seeks another term, Sheriff Youngman says his focus will remain on efficiency, transparency, and continued investment in the people and tools that keep Daviess County safe.
