Sharps Disposal Program Continuing at the Dubois County Health Department

The Dubois County Health Department is eager to announce the continuation of its sharps collection program in 2026. This free service is available to Dubois County residents as a convenient and safe way to properly dispose of used sharps containers.

Sharps are defined as used needles and other sharp medical devices, which can be dangerous if not disposed of properly. This residential sharps disposal program provides a safe and controlled method for discarding used needles, helping reduce the risk of accidental injury and the potential spread of infection within the community.

“We are proud to continue offering this important service to Dubois County residents,” said Shawn Werner, Dubois County Health Department Administrative Director. “Providing a safe disposal option helps protect families, sanitation workers, and the public from unnecessary risk.”
