Share your thoughts about the 5 pillars of the (City of Jasper) JasperGov - Comprehensive Plan

The City of Jasper is inviting residents and community stakeholders to take part in shaping the city’s future as work continues on an update to the city’s Comprehensive Plan.

City officials have launched an online engagement page where residents can share ideas, ask questions, and provide feedback about the long-term planning process. The goal is to encourage open dialogue and gather input from a wide range of perspectives across the community.

The site includes several discussion boards that correspond with key “Strategic Pillars” guiding the comprehensive planning effort. Each pillar focuses on an important aspect of the city’s future and includes background information designed to help residents better understand the topics being discussed.

The five pillars include Community Fabric, City Growth, Connectivity and Collaboration, Workforce and Economic Development, and Quality of Life Amenities.

City leaders say the discussion boards are intended to provide a space where residents can share experiences, offer suggestions, and discuss priorities for Jasper’s future development.

To keep conversations productive and accessible for everyone, the city is asking participants to follow a few guidelines. Comments should remain respectful and civil, stay on topic, and focus on constructive ideas and feedback.

Posts containing profanity, threats, harassment, hate speech, defamatory statements, commercial advertising, spam, or unrelated content may be removed by moderators.

However, city officials emphasize that comments will not be removed simply because they disagree with city policies or proposals. Officials say diverse opinions are welcomed and encouraged, as they help inform better planning decisions for the community.

Residents interested in participating can review the Strategic Pillars and join the discussion through the city’s online planning platform. More information about the Jasper Comprehensive Plan project is available through the city.
