Search Warrant Leads to Trafficking Arrest

On December 16, 2025, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and Patrol Division executed a search warrant in the 1700 block of Bluegrass Court in Owensboro, Kentucky, at the residence of Jacob Lee Tyler. SIU Detectives had recently opened a drug trafficking investigation into Tyler’s activities after receiving information about possible criminal activity at his residence.

Earlier in the day Tyler was stopped by a Deputy on Gemini Drive and approximately 1 pound of marijuana was located in his vehicle. The traffic stop led Detectives to obtain a search warrant at Tyler’s residence. During the execution of the search warrant evidence of a drug trafficking operation was found and seized including approximately 5 pounds of marijuana, multiple boxes of THC cartridges, multiple bags and containers of pills such as benzodiazepine, a large bag of psilocybin mushrooms, scales, baggies, bongs, heat sealing machine, and US Currency. A loaded shotgun and a loaded 9mm handgun that was found nearby the contraband were also located and seized. Both the traffic stop and residence are located within a 1,000 feet of a school which were in session at the time.
