Search Warrant Leads to Multiple Drug Trafficking Arrests

On November 12, 2025, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU), General Investigations Unit and Patrol Division executed a search warrant in the 3000 block of Veach Rd in Owensboro at the residence of Corby T. Newton. DCSO SIU Detectives began investigating this location after they received information of a possible drug trafficking operation at this residence. 

Upon entering the home, detectives located multiple people in the residence along with evidence of a drug trafficking operation was evident. Detectives seized trafficking amounts of methamphetamine in different rooms of the residence, along with marijuana, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, suboxone pills, unidentified pills, and syringes. Many of the suspects also had active arrest warrants. Newton, along with Charles Buchanan, Darah Thrasher and Angel Duke were charged and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.


Suspect/Charged: Corby Tram Newton, age 30, of the 3000 Block of Veach Rd, Owensboro, Kentucky 

Offenses: - Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Meth) - Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2 nd Offense (Drug Unspecified) - Possession of Marijuana - Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Possess - Failure to Appear & Comply on Child Support Warrant - Probation Violation Warrant for: • Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Possess • Carrying A Concealed Weapon • Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Meth) • Probation Violation (for Felony Offense) 

Suspect/Charged: Charles Lee Buchanan, age 36, of the 3000 Block of Veach Rd, Owensboro, KY. 

Offenses: - Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Meth) - Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense (Drug Unspecified) - Possession of Marijuana - Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Possess Suspect/Charged: Darah-Jo Hatton Thrasher, age 29, of the 3000 Block of Veach Rd, Owensboro, Kentucky Offenses: - Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Meth) - Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense (Drug Unspecified) - Possession of Marijuana - Drug Paraphernalia – Buy / Possess - Drug Court Violation II (Franklin County Circuit Court) – Contempt of Court 

Suspect/Charged: Angel Danielle Duke, age 20, of the 3000 Block of Veach Rd, Owensboro, Kentucky
