Schmitt to host town halls across Senate District 48
District 48 State Senator Daryl Schmitt (R–Jasper) has announced a schedule of town hall meetings, which he says are invaluable to his service as state Senator, giving him the opportunity to meet with constituents and hear their questions and concerns.
"Representing six counties means understanding that every community has its own challenges and opportunities," Schmitt said. "By regularly visiting all six counties, attending local meetings, and meeting with residents where they are, I’ve learned that the best representation starts with genuine conversation. I've spent countless hours meeting with local leaders and constituents because the best ideas don't come from Indianapolis — they come from the people who live and work here every day. I hope you'll join me at one of these town halls and share your thoughts."
Town hall meetings will take place from:
- 5:30 to 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Spencer County Youth and Community Center, 1101 E. County R. 800 N., Chrisney;
- 5:30 to 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Derby Community Center, 12800 N. State Road 66, Derby;
- 6 to 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at The Vault on Main, 618 Main St., Petersburg;
- 5:30 to 7 p.m. CT on Monday, Sept. 14, at Dick Clark's Family Restaurant, 702 N. Princeton St., Princeton;
- 5:30 to 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Crawford County Fairgrounds, 1095 State Road 66, Marengo; and
- 5:30 to 7 p.m. ET on Monday, Sept. 21, at Venue 1408, 1408 N. Main St., Huntingburg.
"I am looking forward to meeting with anyone who wants to discuss important topics at one of these meetings, and I encourage you to stop in so I can hear directly from you," Schmitt said.
