SCAM ALERT: Local Resident Targeted by Phone Scammer Claiming to be From Medicare

JASPER -- A local woman has reportedly been targeted by a new phone scam going around.
The would-be victim tells WITZ the person claimed to be from Medicare and was working with a local doctor. The woman tells us the number was spoofed on her caller ID to make it look like the phone call was coming from her actual doctor.
She says the crooks even had her doctor and Medicare information.
If you get a call like this, hang up immediately. Scammers can spook calls to make them look legitimate on your caller ID. Never give out personal information over the phone.
