Rotary Club of Dubois County Awards More Than $20,000 in Community Grants

The Rotary Club of Dubois County has awarded a total of $21,000 in community grants to four local organizations as part of its 2026 Community Grants Program. This year's recipients are ALASI, Deaconess Memorial Medical Center Volunteer Services/Memorial Medical Center Foundation, Next Step Recovery Home, and Holy Trinity Catholic School.

“We are honored to continue investing in organizations that are directly improving the health, well-being, and future of Dubois County families,” said Derek Budd, Rotary Club of Dubois County President. “Each of these projects reflects Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self and aligns with our global areas of focus. Together, they address meaningful community needs while creating lasting impact throughout Dubois County.”

As with past grant cycles, applications were required to align with one of Rotary International’s seven areas of focus: promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, maternal and child health, supporting education, growing local economies, and protecting the environment.

The 2026 Community Grant recipients include:
  • $8,050 to ALASI to support programming surrounding health and wellness.
  • $6,000 to Deaconess Memorial Medical Center Volunteer Services/Memorial Medical Center Foundation for funds toward the purchase of a new golf cart to assist with patient transportation needs across the hospital campus.
  • $6,000 to Next Step Recovery Home to assist with home improvements that will enhance the living environment for its residents.
  • $950 to Holy Trinity Catholic School to support its music program and the purchase of classroom instruments.
In addition to financial support, Rotary Club members will continue to partner with these organizations through volunteerism, mentorship, and community outreach, reinforcing the club’s longstanding commitment to hands-on service.

Rotary Community Grant funding is made possible through the club’s signature fundraising events, including the ATHENA Banquet, a Pickleball Tournament, Leadership Luncheons, and the Economic Forecast Luncheon.

Since launching the Community Grants Program, the Rotary Club of Dubois County has invested in dozens of local organizations working to strengthen education, health, human services, and quality of life throughout the region. Past recipients include Dove House, Crisis Connection, Southeast Dubois School Corporation, Southwest Dubois County School Corporation, TRI-CAP, and The Trotter House.

Applications for the next Community Grant cycle will open in early 2027.
