Resurfacing Project Scheduled for SR 264 in Ferdinand

FROM INDOT

DUBOIS COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions for a pavement rehabilitation project on State Road 264 near Ferdinand.

Beginning on or around Monday, May 26, contractors will close one lane of S.R. 264 from the intersection at S.R. 162 all the way to the end of S.R. 264 for workers to perform deep patching and resurfacing operations. Crews will be fixing areas of pavement that have weakened or deteriorated over time due to normal usage. Once the patches are complete, they will mill the top layer of asphalt off to add a new driving surface.

During this project one lane will be open at all times. However, the open lane will be restricted to a nine-foot width. Loads wider than nine feet will need to seek an alternate route.

Work is expected to be complete by mid-July depending upon weather conditions. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
