Portion of SR 70 Closed in Spencer County For Drainage Structure Replacement Starting Monday

SPENCER COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces drainage structure replacement project on State Road 70 near Chrisney.

Beginning on or around Monday Nov. 18, INDOT Contractors will close S.R. 70 from S.R. 245 to S.R. 66 for a drainage structure replacement. Crews will be excavating the old structure and installing a new one, requiring a full road closure at the site.

During the project, the road will be closed to through traffic. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. All others should use the official detour using U.S. 231 and S.R. 66. Depending on weather conditions work should be complete by the end of November.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
