Pike Co. Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on child solicitation charges

Authorities in Pike County launched an investigation Saturday into 36-year-old Brandon Rhoderick after a tip was received that he was having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old.

Deputies in Pike County made contact with the victim, who said she and Rhoderick knew each other from church, and communicated on a phone app called “Plato”.

The victim told deputies that she and Rhoderick would kiss and hug. The victim also said they had conversations about sex when the victim was of age.

On Sunday, authorities executed a search warrant on Rhoderick’s home. Originally, Rhoderick told authorities he had not touched the victim inappropriately, and he was trying to help her work through some issues.

Rhoderick was later taken to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, where he then admitted to authorities that he and the victim had known each other for two years and started communicating daily four months ago.

He told authorities the conversations did become sexual. Rhoderick also admitted to kissing and hugging the victim numerous times at church.

Rhoderick was arrested and taken to the Pike County Jail on child solicitation charges.
