One Dead Following Shooting, Abduction and Police Pursuit in Kentucky

Daviess County, Kentucky: At approximately 10:30 pm on Wednesday September 2nd, Daviess County Sheriff's Office patrol division deputies were involved in an officer involved shooting in the 9700 block of Morgantown Road in which a male subject was killed by law enforcement. The deputies were responding to a request for assistance from the Ohio County Sheriff's Office at the time of the shooting. The subject that was killed had just left a residence in Ohio County where he had shot a woman and abducted her adult daughter from the home. When he was encountered by the responding DCSO units, a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The pursuit ended in the 9700 block of Morgantown Road in Daviess County, at which time he exited the vehicle armed with a handgun and was shot. The woman who was shot at the residence was flown to University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition. The woman who was abducted was located deceased from a gunshot wound in the male subject's vehicle following the shooting. The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team responded to the shooting and are leading the investigation. The Daviess County Coroner's Office is investigating the deaths.
