NEW: Showplace Cinemas to Open Jasper Theatre Next Month

JASPER -- The old Jasper 8 movie theatre is set to reopen next month.

The new owners took to social media recently to announce opening dates for all of its Showplace Cinemas including locations in Newburgh and Evansville.

Before the pandemic, Showplace Cinemas, based in Evansville, purchased the theatre from Jasper-based SERVUS! and has completed a number of upgrades including adding reclining seats, renovating the lobby and concession stands and changing flooring, hallways and signage throughout the building.

There will also be a bar and lounge area added where beer and wine will be sold.

The theatre in Jasper is slated to open on June 26^th.
