Multiple 911 Calls Lead to Arrest Following Pursuit on I‑65

A Brookston, Indiana woman was arrested Friday afternoon after multiple 911 callers reported a vehicle speeding and weaving through traffic on Interstate 65 in Clark County.

At approximately 4:34 p.m. on May 22, 2026, Trooper Taylor Wolfe overheard radio traffic regarding a silver Chevrolet Camaro traveling southbound near the 13‑mile marker at a high rate of speed and making unsafe lane changes. A Sellersburg Police unit also reported the vehicle driving recklessly near the 8.6‑mile marker.

Trooper Wolfe located the Camaro near the 6.5‑mile marker and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle continued southbound at speeds estimated between 120 and 130 mph. The car’s rear bumper was missing, and no visible registration could be seen. With additional officers responding, troopers were able to slow and stop the vehicle near the 3.8‑mile marker.

The driver, Coda Simpson, 42, of Brookston, Indiana, a town in White County in north‑central Indiana, was taken into custody following the stop. Based on the ensuing investigation and evidence observed at the scene, Simpson was transported for further evaluation and later booked into the Clark County Jail.

Simpson faces the following charges:
• Resisting Law Enforcement – A Misdemeanor
• Operating While Intoxicated – C Misdemeanor
• Reckless Driving – C Misdemeanor
