DUBOIS COUNTY -- Dubois County Republican Party Chairman, Sen. Mark Messmer, has announced he'll convene a caucus of the Harbison Township Precinct Committeemen to fill a vacancy in the office of Harbison Township Advisory Board due to the death of Larry Jones.

The caucus will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday March 23, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.  There are 2 Precinct Committeemen eligible to vote in the caucus.

Candidates to fill the vacancy are required to file a declaration of candidacy with Messmer on the CEB-5 form at least 72 hours before the caucus.  Nominations from the floor are NOT permitted by State law.

"Precinct Committeemen have numerous roles to play with the Republican Party," Messmer said in a statement.  "None is more important than representing your constituents in the selection to fill this vacancy in a public office."
