Man Charged with Felonies for Threats with a Gun

On Sunday, March 29 th , at approximately 7:53 pm, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) Patrol Division deputies responded to a report of a disturbance taking place in the 10800 block of Mill Street in Utica, Kentucky. Upon arrival, witnesses stated to deputies that a subject had produced a handgun during an argument and threatened to shoot a female and pointed the gun at several people who were present. The female was able to leave the area and go to another residence where deputies met her, took her statement, and viewed video of the altercation that the female had with her. 

The suspect was located at Wal Mart on Frederica Street a short time later and questioned about the altercation. After being advised of his Miranda Rights, he stated that he had gone to Mill Street to visit family but encountered a subject with whom he had an ongoing dispute with and had been wanting to fight and that when he saw him he “lost it.” He admitted to his part in the altercation and stated that the firearm in the video was real. Deputies located the firearm—a 9 mm Tauras—in his vehicle and verified it was loaded. It was seized and logged into evidence at DCSO. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center. No one was injured in the incident. 
 
Suspect: Austin Clay Henson, age 24, of the 400 block of Center Street, Owensboro, KY 

Charges: 
• Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Firearm) – 2 Counts 
• Terroristic Threatening 3 rd Degree – 2 Counts
