Local 14-Year-Old Singer/Songwriter EV Mae Joins Justin Howard on the Mid-Day Show

Jasper - In her radio performance debut Friday morning, Jasper's own Singer/Songwriter EV Mae joined Justin Howard's Mid-Day show on WITZ.

A 14-year-old incoming Freshman at Jasper High School, EV told Howard that her love of performing music goes back as long as she can remember.

"I started singing when I was about three, I learned my first song," EV said. "I started performing out when I was nine, I sang at nursing homes for awhile. It really got me interested when I visited Nashville for my ninth birthday."

Her journey has taken her many places, including being invited on stage to participate in concerts. For EV, a portion of the satisfaction that has come from her songs is that they are her words, based on her feelings.

"It is an amazing feeling; it's really great," EV said. "It's just like this feeling like 'Wow, I'm this artist that people actually want to listen to', and it's my music, it's coming from my heart. It's not just these songs that other people have written, it's mine, and it's an amazing feeling."

Just because she will be away from school for summer vacation does not mean that she won't be keeping busy.

"I will be at the Jasper Moose on June 26th, and Bar Louie in Owensboro (Kentucky) on July 16th, and then Woopenheimers Anniversary Celebration July 23rd," EV said before adding. "Oh, and I'll also be at the Herbstest and the St. Meinrad Rocks."

EV Mae's music can be found on Spotify and Amazon Music.
