Juvenile Charged Following Firearm Discharge in Fawn Drive Area

On October 25, 2026, at approximately 3:10 am, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 4500 blk of Fawn Drive on the southside of Owensboro regarding a suspicious vehicle sitting in front of a residence. While enroute, the deputies were updated that a gunshot had been inside the vehicle. Deputies arrived in the area and located the vehicle, a maroon Nissan Altima, still parked and running near the residence. As deputies approached the vehicle, it drove off and a brief vehicle pursuit began. The Altima eventually pulled over several blocks away, and deputies performed a felony stop on the vehicle due to the firearm discharge and the heavily tinted windows. Two passengers exited the vehicle and were detained by deputies. The vehicle then accelerated again from the traffic stop. Deputies did not pursue the vehicle due to having two suspects in custody and because they had the vehicle registration plate number. Additional information about the driver was obtained from the detained passengers.

Deputies checked numerous locations in the city and county that the suspect might have been and eventually located the vehicle and driver. He was taken into custody at 6:40 pm. A spent .45 caliber shell casing along with two live rounds were located inside of the vehicle. A second juvenile is being sought in connection with the firearm discharge, and additional charges are pending. No one was injured by the gunshot that had been fired, and no property damage was reported. All evidence was logged into the property room at DCSO. The juvenile was transported and lodged in the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center. DCSO will continue to search for the second juvenile involved in this case. The investigation determined that the passengers who were initially detained following the traffic stop were not involved in any criminal activity and were released to their guardians.
