Jasper Woman Arrested for Driving Intoxicated, Missing Tire

Jasper - A Jasper woman was arrested on Sunday for driving intoxicated while the car was damaging public roads.


At 9:00 p.m. Sunday night, Jasper Police Officers were dispatched after receiving a tip reporting that a vehicle was driving with no tire on Saint Charles street. The car was moving slowly on the wheel rim, resulting in sparks and damage to multiple roadways.

Tracking the damage to the roadway, officers followed the vehicle's path to Apple Blossom and Maple Street.

Maria Rocha, 24, of Jasper, was determined to be impaired by officers on the scene. Rocha tested .08, at the legal limit, on a certified chemical test.

Rocha was lodged into the Dubois County Security Center and charged with Criminal Mischief, Operating While Intoxicated, and OWI Endangerment.
