Jasper RDC Certifies Pool Completion, Moves Forward with Wellness Center

At its Tuesday morning meeting, the Jasper Redevelopment Commission took the next steps in transitioning from the outdoor pool’s construction to the Regional Wellness Center project.

The board approved a claim of $42.86 to The Jasper Herald for the publication of 2025 Annual Financial Report. This year, a report for the RDC was necessary in addition to the one from the City of Jasper due to the pool bonding process. This will be an annual requirement going forward.

The Board confirmed the Affidavit of Completion for the outdoor pool. Hafer Construction also verified completion with a signature from the head engineer. The affidavit required signatures from both the RDA and the RDC. During construction of the municipal pool, the old pool had to be demolished. Although the RDA owned the site, the disparity between the value of the site and the bonds required additional value to be provided.

In order to satisfy the requirements, the Habig Center was transferred to the RDA to serve as that collateral. Now that the pool construction is finished, the same process will be used for the Regional Wellness Center. The affidavit confirms that the pool is completed and now serves as its own collateral so that the Habig Center can be released.

The Board approved Resolution RDC 2026-4, which establishes a policy requiring the advance submission of items for meeting agendas. Under the resolution, agenda items must be submitted at least seven days prior to the meeting at which they will be considered. Emergency or time-sensitive items may still be considered with the Board’s approval.

The next regular meeting will be on May 5, 2026.
