Jasper High School Interact Club and Rotary Club of Dubois County Strengthen Partnership Through Service and Student Impact
The Rotary Club of Dubois County and the Jasper High School Interact Club continue to demonstrate the power of service-driven collaboration, celebrating another impactful year of partnership during their second joint meeting of the year.
The Jasper High School Interact Club, now nearly 30 members strong and led by faculty sponsor Mrs. Anna Grant, has gone above and beyond in its commitment to community service. Throughout the school year, students organized food drives, raised funds for local nonprofits including SWICACC, visited nursing homes, and participated in numerous initiatives aimed at uplifting those in need across Dubois County.
As part of the two clubs' most recent joint meeting, members of both clubs came together for a hands-on service project, assembling 100 hygiene kits. These kits will be distributed to Dubois County schools to support students in need as they head into the summer months, ensuring access to basic necessities beyond the classroom.
The event also marked a milestone moment, as Johnson Dong was named the inaugural Rotary Club of Dubois County Interact Scholarship recipient, receiving a $1,000 award. Johnson plans to attend Harvard University, where he will study Economics. His academic achievements, leadership, and dedication to service embody the shared values of both Rotary and Interact.
“This partnership represents the very best of what can happen when young leaders and community organizations come together with a shared purpose,” said Deidra Church, Rotary Club of Dubois County President. “We are incredibly proud of the Interact Club’s growth, impact, and commitment to ‘Service Above Self.”
Together, the Rotary Club of Dubois County and the Jasper High School Interact Club continue to inspire a culture of service, leadership, and compassion - making a meaningful difference in the community today while shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
