Jasper District Welcomes Two New Probationary Troopers
On March 19, 2026, seven probationary troopers graduated from the 89th Indiana State Police Lateral Academy.
These probationary troopers have completed over 1,200 hours of structured training in law enforcement techniques and hands-on, scenario-based training at the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. Their curriculum included criminal law instruction, emergency vehicle operations, psychology, traffic law, crash investigation, self-defense, first responder, and other general law enforcement-related training. The probationary troopers now begin their next phase of instruction, a three-month field training period, working alongside veteran troopers. Field training aims to give troopers a practical application to the training they received throughout the formal academy. After field training, the troopers will be assigned an Indiana State Police patrol vehicle and begin solo patrol.
The new troopers assigned to the Jasper Post are Nicholas Goller and Elijah Mundy.
Trooper Goller is a 2015 graduate of Northeast Dubois Highschool. Following graduation, Trooper Goller ran his own landscaping company. In 2022 Trooper Goller was hired by the Jasper Police Department and attended the Southwest Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Trooper Goller worked for the Jasper Police Department for 3.5 years. Trooper Goller resides in Dubois County with his wife and children.
Trooper Mundy is a 2010 graduate of Jasper High School. Trooper Mundy joined the Marine Corps as a Field Radio Operator in 2014 and served one deployment in Afghanistan from September 2012 to May 2013. Trooper Mundy left the Marines in 2014 and began working at Jasper Engines and Transmissions. Trooper Mundy began working for the Jasper Police Department and graduated from the basic police academy in 2019. Trooper Mundy lives in Dubois County with his wife.
