IU Health Mobile Lung Screening Unit Coming to Dubois County
The Indiana University Health Mobile Lung Screening Unit will be visiting the Dubois
County Health Department on Thursday, April 23, offering convenient and potentially life-saving lung
screenings for eligible individuals. The unit will be on-site at 1187 South Saint Charles Steet, Jasper, from
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, but early detection can
significantly increase survival rates. This mobile unit brings state-of-the-art technology directly to the
community, offering low-dose CT scans to those who qualify — helping detect lung cancer in its earliest,
most treatable stages.
If you currently smoke or have quit in the last 15 years and are between the ages of 50 and 77, you may
be eligible. The scan requires no needles, no special diet, or change of clothes. Lung screenings are
typically covered by insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid, if you meet eligibility
requirements. You may be eligible for financial assistance if you have no insurance.
Appointments are required. To check eligibility and schedule your screening, please call 317-962-5864.
For general questions about the event or directions to the site, please contact the Dubois County Health
Department at 812-481-7050 or visit www.duboiscountyin.org.
