INTENT TO CONSIDER PROPOSAL

Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of Jasper, Indiana, received a favorable recommendation from the Jasper Advisory Plan Commission, concerning the following: 

1. Rezoning of the herein described real estate, to-wit: Subject Property: 801 S 400 W, Jasper, Indiana 47546, parcel number: 19-11-05-400-034.000-016. 

Legally Described as: 
A part of the North Half of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 5, Township 2 South, Range 5 West, described as follows: Beginning at an iron pin at the southeast corner of said Half-Quarter-Quarter; thence West 1317.3 feet along the south line of said Half-Quarter-Quarter to the west line thereof; thence North 350.0 feet to a steel stake; thence South 85 degrees 39 minutes East 1319.2 feet to the east line of said Half-Quarter-Quarter thence South 250.0 feet to the Point of Beginning and containing 9.07 acres, more or less. 

The Jasper City Plan Commission has favorably recommended to rezone this property from Rural Residential (RR) to Agriculture General (A1). 

2. An Ordinance amending the Unified Development Ordinance (“UDO”) for the City of Jasper, Indiana, and its jurisdictional area. This amendment shall be applicable to the real property identified in the City of Jasper and in its extraterritorial jurisdiction. As part of this consideration, the Common Council will consider changes to the zone map for the City of Jasper, Indiana, and its extraterritorial jurisdiction. 

Copies of the proposed ORDINANCE will be made available for inspection at the Department of Community Development and Planning, located at Jasper City Hall, 610 Main Street, Jasper, Indiana, between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. 

The Common Council will consider the rezoning proposal and the amendments to the UDO at its regular meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 610 Main Street.
