INDOT’s Work Zone Safety Awareness Week Runs April 9th – 13th.

AREA WIDE -- INDOT’s Southwest District is celebrating Work Zone Safety Awareness Week next week.

Through the week, the district will host events at different locations and on social media, brining attention to work zone safety.

INDOT is inviting the public to join them and share their social media events to bring more awareness to the safety issues in work zones.

A 2015 report showed, in four out of five fatal work zone crashes, it was the driver and their passengers who died as a result.

That same year, 700 work zone fatalities were reported across the country with over 35,000 injuries in those work zones.

INDOT’s Work Zone Safety Awareness Week runs from April 9 – 13^th.
