INDIANA STATE POLICE CHILD MOLESTATION INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN ARREST

A child molestation investigation initiated in July 2026 by the Indiana State Police Investigations Unit has resulted in the arrest of a Bloomington man.

Brayton J. Arthur, Age 30, of Bloomington was arrested on August 8, 2026, without incident and transported to the Monroe County Jail for the following preliminary charges:

Child Molest, a Level 1 Felony
Child Molest, a Level 4 Felony
Child Molest, a Class B Felony (Contact with victim happened before July 2016 when Indiana Criminal Classifications transitioned from Letter to Numerical levels)

Bloomington District Detective Kent Rohlfing initiated his investigation after observing victim interviews conducted at a child advocacy center. During the investigation, Detective Rohlfing determined the victims were under the age of eighteen (18) years old when the child molests occurred. Detective Rohlfing filed a probable cause affidavit in Monroe County, and an arrest warrant was granted.

A family case manager from the Indiana Department of Child Services assisted with the investigation.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
