INDIANA STATE POLICE ARRESTS BLOOMINGTON MAN FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD SEX ABUSE MATERIAL

Members of the Indiana State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, with assistance from the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section, the Bloomington Police Department, the Ellettsville Police Department, and the United States Secret Service, arrested a Bloomington man for possession of child sex abuse material (CSAM).

Greg E. Vaughn, Age 57, of Bloomington, was arrested Monday, November 10th, following the execution of a residential search warrant.

Detective Robert Whyte, of ISP's ICAC Unit, initiated the investigation into the possession of CSAM in October 2025 and identified the potential suspect as Vaughn. Whyte applied for and was granted a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. The search warrant was executed in Bloomington. The ICAC Task Force, which included Detectives from the Indiana State Police and Forensic Examiners from ISP’s Digital Forensics Unit, Officers from the Bloomington and Ellettsville police departments, a Special Agent from the United States Secret Service, as well as Troopers from the Bloomington District, seized electronic and digital media devices. Vaughn was arrested without incident and transported to the Monroe County Jail, where his custody was transferred for the following charges:

  • 2 counts of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material (under 12 years of age), a Level 5 Felony

The examination of his electronic devices by ISP forensic examiners remains ongoing, with additional charges possibly forthcoming.

The Indiana ICAC Task Force is a multiagency task force that investigates and prosecutes persons who use the internet to exploit or entice children sexually. The Indiana State Police oversees the task force.

The Indiana ICAC Task Force encourages Hoosiers to report online exploitation, solicitation, and enticement-type crimes against children to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
