Indiana State Police Announce Promotion of Master Trooper Josh Livingston to Sergeant
Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott announced today that Master Trooper Josh Livingston has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In his new role, Sergeant Livingston will serve as a Firearms Training Sergeant in the Training Division.
Sergeant Livingston is a native of Orange County where he graduated from Paoli Jr./Sr high school in 2000. After high school, Sergeant Livingston attended and graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
In 2004, Sergeant Livingston graduated from the 64th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. Sergeant Livingston has been a dedicated member of the Indiana State Police for over twenty-one years, beginning his career as a road trooper at the Lafayette post from 2004-2006. He then transferred to the Jasper District where is has worked as a road trooper patrolling Orange County ever since. His promotion follows a rigorous selection process, including a comprehensive written exam, an oral interview, and an extensive evaluation of his overall job performance.
Sgt. Livingston has served as a Background Investigator, Tactical Intervention Platoon Team Member, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Academy Scenario Trainer, Taser Instructor, Below 100 Instructor, and Department Armorer. Sergeant Livingston currently resides in Orange County with his wife and two daughters.
