IN MEMORY OF KIT G. MIRACLE EXHIBIT AT THE THYEN-CLARK CULTURAL CENTER

Jasper Arts is pleased to present the ‘In Memory of Kit Miracle’ exhibition honoring the great artist, beloved family member and friend, Kit G. Miracle for the months of January and February 2026 at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center.

Kit was the former Director of Jasper Community Arts and before that, was employed by Ford Motor Company in Michigan. She graduated from Earlham College with graduate work at Oakland University (Rochester, Michigan) and Paint Creek Center for the Arts.

Kit was a contemporary impressionist. Her work is characterized by capturing the feelings of the scenes with thick brush strokes, colors placed adjacent to each other rather than mixed on the palette, common-place subject matter, and asymmetrical compositions. Her bold style aims to draw the viewer to visually participate in the artistic process.

Kit loved to paint her travels, especially taking advantage of Plein Air opportunities.

Miracle once stated, “Most people think that I’m a painter but I’m much more than that. I’m a storyteller. I don’t use words to tell my stories. My tools are paint and canvas and paper. I use them to convey my stories with a depth that words cannot reach.”

A professional artist for more than 35 years, Kit has had numerous solo and group exhibits, including at the Salmungundi Club in New York, the Cocoran Gallery in Washington D.C. and the Rocky Mountain Watercolor Media exhibit. Her work has also won many awards and is sold world- wide.
