Huntingburg Woman Arrested Overnight on Meth, Other Charges

HUNTINGBURG -- A Huntingburg woman was arrested overnight after police found drugs in her vehicle.

Valerie Messmer, 35 was stopped around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 231 and 22nd Street for unsafe lane changes.

A police K9 indicated there were narcotics in the truck.  A search turned up meth, paraphernalia and marijuana.

Investigators believe Messmer was intoxicated at the time.  She was transported to the Dubois County Security Center on a felony count of meth possession.

She also faces misdemeanor counts of OWI and for possession of the marijuana and paraphernalia.
