Huntingburg RDC Prepares for Annual TIF Report

On Tuesday evening, the Huntingburg Redevelopment Commission assembled to conduct regular business ahead of its annual TIF report later this fall.

The straightforward agenda opened with the approval of the minutes from the August meeting. It was noted that Jayme Rasche has been elected Assistant Secretary through the end of the year. Docket and non-docket claims for August TIF reimbursements were approved in the amount of $984.54. The meeting calendar was reviewed for potential conflicts through the end of the year. As no conflicts were identified, meetings will remain as scheduled.

The annual TIF report for overlapping taxing units with TIF expenditures will be presented sometime in October or November. This report is provided by Crowe LLP to the Redevelopment Commission to comply with state reporting requirements. It outlines the financial status, revenues, expenditures, and outstanding debt obligations for Huntingburg’s TIF districts Some of these include the Northwest Industrial area, OFS Economic Development area, and the Industrial Park West area.

These reports provide financial transparency, itemizing revenues received from property tac increments. They track expenditures by detailing fund disbursements for local infrastructure, neighborhood revitalization, and economic development projects. They also track debt by monitoring outstanding bonds or obligations that are financially backed by TIF revenue. They also satisfy statutory compliance, as they are filed annually through the Indiana Gateway for state and public review.

The next meeting of the Huntingburg RDC is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6 at 5:15 pm.
