Huntingburg Man Arrested For OVWI

Sunday afternoon, September 6, Trooper Levi Hupp was working on US 231 near Lamar when he stopped a vehicle for speeding. Trooper Hup made contact with the driver who was identified as John Messmer. While speaking with Messmer, Trooper Hupp observed visible signs of impairment. Messmer was transported to The Dale Police Department in Dale for a chemical test. Messmer was arrested and transported to the Spencer County Jail where he is being held on bond. 

Arrested and Charges: 
• John N. Messmer, 61, Huntingburg, IN. 
 Operating While Intoxicated – Class A Misdemeanor 
 
Arresting Officer – Trooper Levi Hupp
Assisting Officer – Trooper Andrew Recker
