Huntingburg Man Arrested For Going 112 MPH on I-69, Was Allegedly Drunk

GIBSON CO. -- A Huntingburg man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving over 110 mph on I-69.

Police stopped 24-year-old Elmis Lopez near the 24 mile marker Saturday.

State troopers say Lopez was impaired and driving on a suspended license.

A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a small amount of marijuana.

Arrest reports show Lopez had a blood alcohol content of .10

He’s charged with Driving While Intoxicated.  That’s enhanced to a felony due to a previous conviction.

He’s also facing charges of Possession of Marijuana, Driving While Suspended, and Reckless Driving.

Those are misdemeanors.
